| وَالْفَجْرِ (1) De dawn |
| وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ (2) nox |
| وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ (3) De et the odd |
| وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ (4) De nox it passes |
| هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ (5) profound oath 1 qui possesses intelligence |
| أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ (6) Vos noted quod tuus Dominus habuit perfecit ‘Aad |
| إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ (7) Erum; oppidum tall buildings |
| الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ (8) ibi est nihil it anywhere |
| وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ (9) Alias Thamoud carved rocks their valley |
| وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ (10) Pharaoh possessed might |
| الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ (11) They totus transgressed terra |
| فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ (12) They spread malus throughout |
| فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ (13) Consequently tuus Dominus poured them whipping retribution |
| إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ (14) Tuus Dominus est ever watchful |
| فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ (15) When human est tested his Dominus blessings joy he dictus My Dominus est generous towards me |
| وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ (16) He tests eum reduction provisions he dictus My Dominus humiliating me |
| كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ (17) Wrong est vos brought it yourselves de non regarding orphanus |
| وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ (18) Ac non advocating charity poor |
| وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا (19) consuming inheritance helpless orphanus |
| وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا (20) Ac loving moneta too much |
| كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا (21) Indeed when terra crushed utterly crushed |
| وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا (22) Tuus Dominus advenit unus angels in row post row |
| وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ (23) Ut feria Gehenna brought forth Ut feria human est remember - Autem quod remembrance - it est too late |
| يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي (24) He dictus Oh Ego wish ego prepared my (eternal) vita |
| فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ (25) Ut feria non retribution est malus than His retribution |
| وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ (26) Nullus confinement est prout effective prout His confinement |
| يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ (27) Prout pro vos O content anima |
| ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً (28) Return to tuus Dominus pleased pleasing |
| فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي (29) Welcome into My servus |
| وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي (30) Welcome into My Paradise |
