| بِّسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ (1) Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down in the Night of Decree |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ (2) How do you know what the Night of Decree is |
| لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ (3) The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months |
| تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ (4) On that night the angels and the Spirit [Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees |
| سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ (5) It is all peace until the break of dawn |
