(Alef), L. (Lam), R. (Raa), the Surah opens with these introductory letters

﴿الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ ﴾
[يُونس: 1]

(Alef), L. (Lam), R. (Raa), the Surah opens with these introductory letters from the Arabic Alphabet to draw attention to the miracle of the Quran which though written in the people's tongue, cannot be emulated. These divine words -the preceding and those to follow- are divinely discoursed, verses, constituting the Book -the Quran- and verses wisdom to divine knowledge
