﴿أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَبًا أَنۡ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَنۡ أَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ قَدَمَ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡۗ قَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٞ مُّبِينٌ ﴾
[يُونس: 2]
﴿أكان للناس عجبا أن أوحينا إلى رجل منهم أن أنذر الناس وبشر﴾ [يُونس: 2]
Dr Kamal Omar Did it become to mankind a wonder that We have sent Our Inspiration to a male adult from amongst themselves so that: “Warn mankind and give good news to those who have Believed — that for them is a right place with their Nourisher-Sustainer,” The disbelievers said: “This is indeed an evident sorcerer.” |

Had it been for humanity to wonder that We revealed to a man from among them that: Warn humanity and give thou good tidings to those who believed so that they will have a sound footing with their Lord? The ones who are ungrateful said: Truly, this is one who is a clear sorcerer |

George Sale Is it a strange thing unto the men of Mecca, that We have revealed our will unto a man from among them, saying, denounce threats unto men if they believe not; and bear good tidings unto those who believe, that on the merit of their sincerity they have an interest with their Lord? The unbelievers say, this is manifest sorcery |
Maududi Does it seem strange to people that We should have revealed to a man from among themselves, directing him to warn the people (who lie engrossed in heedlessness); and to give good news to the believers that they shall enjoy true honour and an exalted status with their Lord? (Is this so strange that) the deniers of the truth should say: `This man is indeed an evident sorcerer |
