﴿وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ شِقَاقَ بَيۡنِهِمَا فَٱبۡعَثُواْ حَكَمٗا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَحَكَمٗا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَآ إِن يُرِيدَآ إِصۡلَٰحٗا يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيۡنَهُمَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا خَبِيرٗا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 35]
﴿وإن خفتم شقاق بينهما فابعثوا حكما من أهله وحكما من أهلها إن﴾ [النِّسَاء: 35]
| Abdel Haleem If you [believers] fear that a couple may break up, appoint one arbiter from his family and one from hers. Then, if the couple want to put things right, God will bring about a reconciliation between them: He is all knowing, all aware |
| Abdul Hye If you fear a breach between the 2 (man and his wife), then appoint an arbitrator from his family and an arbitrator from her family; if they both wish to set things right, Allah will bring reconciliation between them. Indeed Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of every thing) |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali If ye fear a breach between them twain, appoint (two) arbiters, one from his family, and the other from hers; if they wish for peace, Allah will cause their reconciliation: For Allah hath full knowledge, and is acquainted with all things |
