Quran with British translation - Surah Al-Ahqaf ayat 27 - الأحقَاف - Page - Juz 26
﴿وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 27]
﴿ولقد أهلكنا ما حولكم من القرى وصرفنا الآيات لعلهم يرجعون﴾ [الأحقَاف: 27]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And certainly We destroyed the towns which are around you, and We repeat the communications that they might turn |
| Mohammad Shafi And We did certainly destroy habitations around you, and We had displayed to them Our Verses/signs, so that they might return to the Right Path |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And verily We have destroyed townships round about you, and displayed (for them) Our revelation, that haply they might return |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And We have (also) destroyed (other) towns around you, while We had given to them a variety of signs, so that they might return (from disbelief) |
| Muhammad Asad Thus have We destroyed many a [sinful] community living round about you; and yet, [before destroying them,] We had given many facets to [Our warning] messages, so that they might turn back [from their evil ways] |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And indeed We already caused whatever towns around you to perish; and We propounded the signs, that possibly they would return |
| Muhammad Sarwar We destroyed some towns around you and showed you the evidence (of the Truth) so that perhaps you would turn (to God) |
