﴿وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 27]
﴿ولقد أهلكنا ما حولكم من القرى وصرفنا الآيات لعلهم يرجعون﴾ [الأحقَاف: 27]
| Abdel Haleem We have also destroyed other communities that once flourished around you- We had given them various signs so that they might return to the right way |
| Abdul Hye And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) around you, and We have shown them in various ways the revelations so that they may return (to the truth) |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali We destroyed aforetime populations round about you; and We have shown the Signs in various ways, that they may turn (to Us) |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi And assuredly We have destroyed the cities round about you. and We have variously propounded our signs, that haply they might return |
| Ahmed Ali We have destroyed habitations all around you, having explained Our signs in different ways to them that they may turn back |
| Aisha Bewley We destroyed the cities round about you and have variegated the Signs so that hopefully they will turn back |
| A. J. Arberry And We destroyed the cities about you, and We turned about the signs, that haply they would return |
| Ali Quli Qarai Certainly We destroyed towns that were around you, and We have paraphrased the signs so that they may come back |
