﴿ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۖ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ﴾
[الحَشر: 4]
﴿ذلك بأنهم شاقوا الله ورسوله ومن يشاق الله فإن الله شديد العقاب﴾ [الحَشر: 4]
| Abdel Haleem because they set themselves against God and His Messenger: God is stern in punishment towards anyone who sets himself against Him |
| Abdul Hye That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad). Whoever opposes Allah, then surely Allah is Severe in punishment |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali That is because they resisted Allah and His Messenger: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi That is because they opposed Allah and His apostle, and whosoever opposeth Allah, then verily Allah is Stern in chastisement |
| Ahmed Ali For they had opposed God and His Apostle; and whosoever opposes God, then God is severe in retribution |
