﴿وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِي ٱشۡتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصۡرَ لِٱمۡرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكۡرِمِي مَثۡوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 21]
﴿وقال الذي اشتراه من مصر لامرأته أكرمي مثواه عسى أن ينفعنا أو﴾ [يُوسُف: 21]
| Dr Kamal Omar And that who purchased him from (a place within) Egypt, said to his wife: “Make dignified his place of stay, may be he will profit us or we shall adopt him as a son.” And thus We established Yusuf in the land (of Egypt), and so that We may teach him the understanding of the Ahadees. And Allah is irresistible regarding His command (and Plan), but the majority of mankind do not know |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar One from Egypt who bought him said to his woman: Honor him as a guest with a place of lodging. Perhaps he will profit us or we will take him to ourselves as a son. And, thus, We established Joseph firmly in the earth that We teach him the interpretation of events. God is One Who is Victor over His command, except most of humanity knows not |

| Maududi The man from Egypt who bought him said to his wife: "Take good care of him, possibly he might be of benefit to us or we might adopt him as a son." Thus We found a way for Joseph to become established in that land and in order that We might teach him to comprehend the deeper meaning of things.
