﴿إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبۡتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ ﴾
[النَّحل: 124]
﴿إنما جعل السبت على الذين اختلفوا فيه وإن ربك ليحكم بينهم يوم﴾ [النَّحل: 124]
Dr Kamal Omar Truly, what (is the fact is that) As-Sabt became a heavy burden on those who created differences therein (by shifting it from youm-ul-Jumuah to other days like Saturday or Sunday and by creating self-imposed burdens for themselves in the form of mahead of state it a closed day for work). And verily, your Nourisher-Sustainer will indeed pronounce a judgement amongst them on the Day of Resurrection in what they had been creating differences therein |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Truly, the Sabbath was made for those who are at variance about it. Truly, thy Lord will give judgment between them on the Day of Resurrection about what they had been at variance in it |
Dr Munir Munshey The Sabbath was something made obligatory upon those who quarreled about it. On the Day of Judgment your Lord will definitely decide and settle all matters in which they now differ |

Maududi As for the Sabbath, it was made incumbent only on those who differed about its laws. Certainly your Lord will judge on the Day of Resurrection between them regarding the matters they disputed |
