﴿۞ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ هَٰذَا عَذۡبٞ فُرَاتٞ وَهَٰذَا مِلۡحٌ أُجَاجٞ وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٗا وَحِجۡرٗا مَّحۡجُورٗا ﴾
[الفُرقَان: 53]
﴿وهو الذي مرج البحرين هذا عذب فرات وهذا ملح أجاج وجعل بينهما﴾ [الفُرقَان: 53]
Dr Kamal Omar And He it is Who has meraja (merged) two seas, this palatable (and) sweet, and this salty (and) bitter; and He has set inbetween those two a barrier, and an obstruction, made completely obstructive (in allowing any intermixing of the two waters) |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And it is He Who let forth the two seas—this, agreeable and water of the sweetest kind and this, salty, bitter. He made between the two that which was unapproachable, a banned barrier |
Dr Munir Munshey It is He Who joined (the two) seas together. One is sweet and palatable, the other brackish and bitter. He has placed between the two of them a barrier _ an absolute restraint |
