﴿يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمۡ عَلَىٰ فَتۡرَةٖ مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ أَن تَقُولُواْ مَا جَآءَنَا مِنۢ بَشِيرٖ وَلَا نَذِيرٖۖ فَقَدۡ جَآءَكُم بَشِيرٞ وَنَذِيرٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ ﴾
[المَائدة: 19]
﴿ياأهل الكتاب قد جاءكم رسولنا يبين لكم على فترة من الرسل أن﴾ [المَائدة: 19]
| Dr Kamal Omar O possessors of Al-Kitab! Verily, has come to you, Our Messenger, he explains and clarifies for you, after a cessation of the coming of the Messengers, lest you say: ’There did not come unto us from a bearer of good news and nor a warner.’ So surely, has come to you the bearer of good news and a warner. And Allah is All-Capable over every thing |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar O People of the Book! Surely, Our Messenger drew near you. He makes manifest to you the way of life—after an interval without Messengers—so that you say not: There drew not near us either a bearer of good tidings or a warner. Then, surely, drew near to you a bearer of good tidings and a warner. And God is Powerful over everything |
| Dr Munir Munshey Oh you, the people of the book! After a long pause (of about six hundred years) between messengers, there has now come to you Our messenger (Muhammad, SAW) who clarifies matters for you. Lest you should say, "No bearer of good news and no warner had ever come to us!" The bearer of good news and the warner has indeed come to you now! Allah has the power to do all things |

Indeed Our Messenger has now come to you making clear to you the teaching of the Right Way, after a long break in the series of the Messengers, so that you may not be able to say, "No one has come to give us good news or to warn us." Now someone has come to give you good news and warn you so listen to him. Allah has power over everything |
| George Sale O ye who have received the scriptures, now is our apostle come unto you, declaring unto you the true religion, during the cessation of apostles, lest ye should say, there came unto us no bearer of good tidings, nor any warner: But now is a bearer of good tidings, and a warner come unto you; and God is almighty |
| Maududi People of the Book! After a long interlude during which no Messengers have appeared there has come to you Our Messenger to elucidate the teaching of the true faith lest you say: ´No bearer of glad tidings and no warner has come to us.´ For now there indeed has come to you a bearer of glad tidings and a warner, Allah is All-Power-ful |
