Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah At-Taghabun ayat 6 - التغَابُن - Page - Juz 28
Dr Kamal Omar That (will happen to them) because it (is so) that their Messengers used to come to them alongwith Al-Bayyinat but they said: “Shall a (mere) human guide us?” So they disbelieved, and they turned away, and Allah remained Self-Sufficient. And Allah is Self-Sufficient, Highly Praised One |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar That had been because their Messengers approach them with the clear portents, but they said: Will mortals guide us? So they were ungrateful and turned away. And God is Self-Sufficient. And God is Rich, Worthy of Praise |
Dr Munir Munshey Allah´s messengers came to them with clear proofs. Yet, they (denied and) said, "Will (fallible) humans guide us now?" They rejected and turned away. Allah (in His Own right) is Free from all needs, and is Worthy of all praise |
Edward Henry Palmer That is because their apostles came to them with manifest signs, and they said, 'Shall mortals guide us?' and they misbelieved and turned their backs. But God was independent of them; for God is rich and to be praised |
Farook Malik That is because, when their Messengers came to them with clear revelations, they said: "Are human beings going to guide us?" So they disbelieved and paid no heed. Allah has no need of such people. Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise |
George Sale This shall they suffer, because their apostles came unto them with evident proofs of their mission, and they said, shall men direct us? Wherefore they believed not, and turned their backs. But God standeth in need of no person: For God is self-sufficient, and worthy to be praised |
Maududi This was because their Messengers would come to them with Clear Signs, but they would say: "Shall mortals (like ourselves) guide us to the Right Way?" They rejected the Truth and turned away. Thereupon Allah became unconcerned with them, for Allah is Self-Sufficient, Innately Praiseworthy |
