Ali Unal This is because the Messengers (appointed for them) came to them consistently with manifest truths (and clear proofs of their being Messengers), but (consistently) they said, "Shall a mere mortal guide us?", and so they disbelieved and turned away (from the warning and hope offered to them). God was independent (of any need of them: it was they who needed to believe in and obey Him). God is All-Wealthy and Self-Sufficient (on Whom the whole creation is dependent), All-Praiseworthy |

Mir Anees Original That was because there came to them their messengers with clear proofs but they said, “Shall human beings guide us?” So they became infidels and turned away, therefore Allah (too) became unconcerned and Allah is Independent, Praised |
Mir Aneesuddin That was because there came to them their messengers with clear proofs but they said, “Shall human beings guide us?” So they became disbelievers and turned away, therefore God (too) became unconcerned and God is Independent, Praised |
