﴿۞ قُلۡ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَمَّا جَآءَنِيَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ مِن رَّبِّي وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أُسۡلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ﴾
[غَافِر: 66]
﴿قل إني نهيت أن أعبد الذين تدعون من دون الله لما جاءني﴾ [غَافِر: 66]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Say: I am forbidden to serve those whom you call upon besides Allah when clear arguments have come to me from my Lord, and I am commanded that I should submit to the Lord of the worlds |
| Mohammad Shafi Say, "I am indeed forbidden to worship those whom you pray to besides Allah since clear evidences have come to me from my Lord, and I am commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Say (O Muhammad): I am forbidden to worship those unto whom ye cry beside Allah since there have come unto me clear proofs from my Lord, and I am commanded to surrender to the Lord of the Worlds |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Say, “I have been ordered not to worship those whom you invoke beside Allah when clear signs from my Lord have (already) come to me, and I have been ordered that I should submit to the Lord of the worlds.” |
| Muhammad Asad Say: “Since all evidence of the truth has come to me from my Sustainer, I am forbidden to worship [any of] those beings whom you invoke instead of God; and I am bidden to surrender myself to the Sustainer of all the worlds.” |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Say, "Surely I have been forbidden to worship the ones you invoke apart from Allah, as soon as the supreme evidence (s) came to me from my Lord; and I have been commanded to surrender to The Lord of the worlds |
| Muhammad Sarwar (Muhammad), say, "I have been forbidden to worship whatever you worship besides God after receiving clear evidence from my Lord. I have been commanded to submit myself to the will of the Lord of the Universe |
