Quran with English translation - Surah Yusuf ayat 40 - يُوسُف - Page - Juz 12
﴿مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَسۡمَآءٗ سَمَّيۡتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَٰنٍۚ إِنِ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ أَمَرَ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلۡقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 40]
﴿ما تعبدون من دونه إلا أسماء سميتموها أنتم وآباؤكم ما أنـزل الله﴾ [يُوسُف: 40]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al “If not Him, you worship nothing but names which you have named, you and your parents, for which God has sent down no authority. The command is for none but God. He has asked that you worship none but Him. That is the right way, but most people do not understand |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Other than Him, you only serve names which you and your fathers named (and made up) which God did not send down any reason for it. The rule only belongs to God. He ordered that you do not serve except Him. This is the lasting religion, but most of the people do not know |
| Ali Quli Qarai You do not worship besides Him but [mere] names that you and your fathers have coined, for which Allah has not sent down any authority. Sovereignty belongs only to Allah. He has commanded you to worship none except Him. That is the upright religion, but most people do not know |

(In the absolute sense) judgment and authority rest with none but God alone: He has commanded that you worship none but Him alone.
