Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Qasas ayat 19 - القَصَص - Page - Juz 20
﴿فَلَمَّآ أَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يَبۡطِشَ بِٱلَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوّٞ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقۡتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسَۢا بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ ﴾
[القَصَص: 19]
﴿فلما أن أراد أن يبطش بالذي هو عدو لهما قال ياموسى أتريد﴾ [القَصَص: 19]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Then when he decided to strike the person who was an enemy to both of them, that person said, “O Moses, is it your intention to slay me as you slew a person yesterday? Your intention is nothing other than to become a powerful, violent person in the land, and not to be one who sets things right.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad So when he wanted to attack the one who was enemy of both of them, he said: Moses, do you want to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only want to be a bully on the land and you do not want to be of the reformers |
| Ali Quli Qarai But when he wanted to strike him who was an enemy of both of them, he said, ‘Moses, do you want to kill me, just like the one you killed yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land, and you do not desire to be one who brings about reform.’ |
| Ali Unal But then, when he was about to fall upon the man who was an enemy of them both, he (the Israelite who thought that Moses would attack him because he had chided him severely) said: "Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You want only to become a tyrant in this land; you do not want to be of those who set things right |

| John Medows Rodwell And when he would have laid violent hands on him who was their common foe, he said to him, "O Moses, dost thou desire to slay me, as thou slayedst a man yesterday? Thou desirest only to become a tyrant in this land, and desirest not to become a peacemaker |
| Literal So when that he wanted/intended that he attacks violently with who he is an enemy to them (B) he said: "You Moses, do you intend/want that you kill me, as you killed a self at the yesterday/past, that you want/intend except that you be a tyrant/oppressor in the earth/Planet Earth, and you do not want that you be from the correcting/reconciliating |
| Mir Anees Original And when he intended to catch him, who was an enemy to them both, he said, “O Musa! do you intend to kill me as you killed a person the day before? You intend nothing but to be a tyrant in the land and you do not intend to be of those who set things right.” |
