﴿۞ لَّئِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهِ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَٱلۡمُرۡجِفُونَ فِي ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ لَنُغۡرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَآ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 60]
﴿لئن لم ينته المنافقون والذين في قلوبهم مرض والمرجفون في المدينة لنغرينك﴾ [الأحزَاب: 60]
| Abdel Haleem If the hypocrites, the sick at heart, and those who spread lies in the city do not desist, We shall rouse you [Prophet] against them, and then they will only be your neighbours in this city for a short while |
| Abdul Hye If the hypocrites, those in whose hearts there is a disease (of evil desires), and those who spread false news among the people in Madinah, don’t desist, We shall let you overpower them, then they will not be able to stay in the city as your neighbors but for a little while |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Truly, if the Hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the City, desist not, We shall certainly stir thee up against them: Then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbours for any length of time |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the raisers of commotion in Madina desist not, We shall surely set thee up against them; thenceforth they shall not be suffered to neighbour thee therein except for a little while |

| Aisha Bewley If the hypocrites and those with sickness in their hearts and the rumour-mongers in Madina do not desist, We will set you onto them. Then they will only be your neighbours there a very short time |
| A. J. Arberry Now; if the hypocrites do not give over, and those in whose hearts there is sickness and they that make commotion in the city, We shall assuredly urge thee against them and then they will be thy neighbours there only a little |
| Ali Quli Qarai If the hypocrites do not relinquish and [also] those in whose hearts is a sickness, and the rumourmongers in the city [do not give up], We will surely urge you [to take action] against them, then they will not be your neighbours in it except for a little [while] |
