﴿فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمُ ٱلرِّجۡزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمۡ يَنكُثُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 135]
﴿فلما كشفنا عنهم الرجز إلى أجل هم بالغوه إذا هم ينكثون﴾ [الأعرَاف: 135]
| Abdel Haleem but when We relieved them of the plague and gave them a fixed period [in which to fulfil their promise]- lo and behold!- they broke it |
| Abdul Hye But when We removed the punishment from them for a fixed term, which they had to reach, and then they broke the promise |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali But every time We removed the penalty from them according to a fixed term which they had to fulfil,- Behold! they broke their word |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Then whensoever We removed the plague from them, till a term which they were to reach, lo! they were breaking faith |
| Ahmed Ali But no sooner was the punishment withdrawn for a time to enable them to make good their promise than they broke it |
