﴿وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ ءَاتَيۡتَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَأَهُۥ زِينَةٗ وَأَمۡوَٰلٗا فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا رَبَّنَا لِيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِكَۖ رَبَّنَا ٱطۡمِسۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ وَٱشۡدُدۡ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَلَا يُؤۡمِنُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ ﴾
[يُونس: 88]
﴿وقال موسى ربنا إنك آتيت فرعون وملأه زينة وأموالا في الحياة الدنيا﴾ [يُونس: 88]
| Dr Kamal Omar And Musa said: “Our Nourisher-Sustainer! Surely, You have bestowed Firaun and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of this world, our Nourisher-Sustainer, so that they may lead (men) astray from your Path? Our Nourisher-Sustainer! Destroy their possessions and harden their hearts, so that they may not Believe until they see the painful torment.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And Moses said: Our Lord! Thou hadst given to Pharaoh and his Council adornment and wealth in this present life. Our Lord! Cause them to go astray from Thy way. Our Lord! Obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they believe not until they consider the painful punishment |
| Dr Munir Munshey And Musa said, "Our Lord, You surely have given the Pharaoh and his chiefs wealth and adornments in the life of this world. Our Lord, this so they lead people away from Your way. Our Lord! Efface their wealth and stiffen their hearts. Let them not believe, right until they witness the agonizing punishment |
| Edward Henry Palmer Moses said, 'O our Lord! verily, Thou hast brought to Pharaoh and his chiefs ornaments and wealth in the life of this world; O our Lord! that they may err from Thy way! O our Lord! confound their wealth and harden their hearts that they may not believe until they see grievous woe |
| Farook Malik Moses prayed: "Our Lord! You have indeed bestowed on Pharoah and his chiefs splendor and wealth in this worldly life. Our Lord, have you done this so that they may mislead people from Your way? Our Lord, destroy their wealth and harden their hearts, so that they may not believe until they see the painful punishment |
| George Sale And Moses said, O Lord, verily Thou hast given unto Pharaoh and his people pompous ornaments, and riches in this present life, O Lord, that they may be seduced from thy way: O Lord, bring their riches to nought, and harden their hearts; that they may not believe, until they see their grievous punishment |
| Maududi Moses prayed: `Our Lord! You bestowed upon Pharaoh and his nobles splendour and riches in the world. Our Lord! Have You done this that they may lead people astray from Your path? Our Lord! Obliterate their riches and harden their hearts that they may not believe until they observe the painful chastisement |
