﴿وَقَالَ يَٰبَنِيَّ لَا تَدۡخُلُواْ مِنۢ بَابٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَٱدۡخُلُواْ مِنۡ أَبۡوَٰبٖ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٖۖ وَمَآ أُغۡنِي عَنكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٍۖ إِنِ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِۖ عَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُۖ وَعَلَيۡهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 67]
﴿وقال يابني لا تدخلوا من باب واحد وادخلوا من أبواب متفرقة وما﴾ [يُوسُف: 67]
Dr Kamal Omar And (Yaqub further) said: “O my dear sons! Do not enter (all) through one entrance, rather enter through different gates, and I am of no benefit to you against Allah (if He has some adverse plans) in any way. The decision is not (a legitimate right) except for Allah. In Him I have put my trust. And in Him, let all, who entrust the trust, put their trust.” |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And he said: O my sons! Enter not by one door, but enter by different doors. I will not avail you against God in anything. Truly, the determination is but with God. In Him I put my trust. And in Him put their trust the ones who put their trust |
Dr Munir Munshey And he said, "Oh my sons! Don´t you all enter the town through one gate, but rather go through different ones. I cannot protect you a bit against Allah. The authority belongs solely to Allah! I trust Him! All trusting persons should place their trust in Him |
Edward Henry Palmer And he said, 'O my sons! enter not by one gate, but enter by several gates; but I cannot avail you aught against God. Judgment is only God's; upon Him do I rely, and on Him do the reliant rely |
Farook Malik Then he said; "My sons! Do not enter the capital city of Egypt through one gate, enter from the different gates. Not that I can avail you aught against Allah; this advice is just a precaution, because none can accurately judge except Allah. In Him do I put my trust and in Him let all the reliant put their trust |
George Sale And he said, my sons, enter not into the city by one and the same gate; but enter by different gates. But this precaution will be of no advantage unto you against the decree of God; for judgment belongeth unto God alone: In Him do I put my trust, and in Him let those confide who seek in whom to put their trust |
Maududi And he enjoined them: "My sons! Do not enter the city by one gate; rather enter it by different gates. I can be of no help to you against Allah. Allah´s command alone prevails. In Him have I put my trust and in Him should all those who have faith put their trust |
