﴿وَسۡـَٔلِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةَ ٱلَّتِي كُنَّا فِيهَا وَٱلۡعِيرَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَقۡبَلۡنَا فِيهَاۖ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 82]
﴿واسأل القرية التي كنا فيها والعير التي أقبلنا فيها وإنا لصادقون﴾ [يُوسُف: 82]
| Dr Kamal Omar And ask the town where we had been and the caravan in which we reached (you), and indeed we are surely those who speak the truth.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And ask the people of the town where we had been and the people of the caravan in which we came forward. And, truly, we are ones who are sincere |
| Dr Munir Munshey Ask the people of the town we were in, or others in our caravan. We are telling the truth |
| Edward Henry Palmer Ask then in the city where we were, and of the caravan in which we approached it, for, verily, we tell the truth |
| Farook Malik You may enquire from the people of the city where we lodged and the caravan in which we travelled that we are indeed telling the truth |
| George Sale And do thou inquire in the city, where we have been, and of the company of merchants, with whom we are arrived, and thou wilt find that we speak the truth |
| Maududi You may inquire of the dwellers of the city where we were, and of the people of the caravan with whom we travelled. We are altogether truthful in what we say |
