﴿قَالَ بَلۡ سَوَّلَتۡ لَكُمۡ أَنفُسُكُمۡ أَمۡرٗاۖ فَصَبۡرٞ جَمِيلٌۖ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأۡتِيَنِي بِهِمۡ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 83]
﴿قال بل سولت لكم أنفسكم أمرا فصبر جميل عسى الله أن يأتيني﴾ [يُوسُف: 83]
Dr Kamal Omar (Yaqub) said: “Nay! Your ownselves have given for you a plan. So (I can give nothing except) desirable patience. May be Allah will bring them all back to me. Truly He, Only He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.” |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He said: You were enticed by your souls into an affair. So patience is graceful. Perhaps God will bring me them altogether. Truly, He, He is The Knowing, The Wise |
Dr Munir Munshey (The father) said, "Rather, your evil spirits made it easier for you (to say that)! I will bear with patience, the utmost patience! Allah might still bring both of my sons back to me. Surely, He is the All-knower and the All-wise |

Maududi The father heard the narration and said: "(All that is untrue). But your souls have made it easy for you to engage in a heinous act. So, I will be graciously patient even at this. Allah may well bring them all back to me. He is All-Knowing, All-Wise |
