﴿۞ قُلۡ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَمَّا جَآءَنِيَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ مِن رَّبِّي وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أُسۡلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ﴾
[غَافِر: 66]
﴿قل إني نهيت أن أعبد الذين تدعون من دون الله لما جاءني﴾ [غَافِر: 66]
| Dr Kamal Omar Say: “I have been forbidden that I may pay obedience to those whom you invoke besides Allah when Al-Bayyinat has reached me from my Nourisher-Sustainer. And I have been ordered that I may submit in Islam to the Nourisher-Sustainer of the worlds |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: Truly, I was prohibited from worshipping those whom you call to other than God, because the clear portents drew near me from my Lord. And I was commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds |
| Dr Munir Munshey Say, "In fact, forbidden upon me is the worship of those you call (for help) other than Allah. Clear proofs have come to me from my Lord. I have been ordered to submit to (none except) the Lord of the world |
| Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'Verily, I am forbidden to serve those whom ye call on beside God, since there have come to me manifest signs from my Lord, and I am bidden to be resigned unto the Lord of the worlds |
| Farook Malik O Prophet, tell them: "I have been forbidden to invoke those whom you invoke besides Allah. How can I do this when clear revelations have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit myself to the Lord of the worlds |
| George Sale Say, verily I am forbidden to worship the deities which ye invoke, besides God, after that evident proofs have come unto me from my Lord; and I am commanded to resign myself unto the Lord of all creatures |
| Maududi Say, (O Prophet): "I have been forbidden to worship those beside Allah whom you call upon. (How can I worship any beside Allah) when clear Signs have come to me from my Lord and I have been commanded to surrender to Allah, the Lord of the Universe |
