﴿هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ ثُمَّ مِنۡ عَلَقَةٖ ثُمَّ يُخۡرِجُكُمۡ طِفۡلٗا ثُمَّ لِتَبۡلُغُوٓاْ أَشُدَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُواْ شُيُوخٗاۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَلِتَبۡلُغُوٓاْ أَجَلٗا مُّسَمّٗى وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ ﴾
[غَافِر: 67]
﴿هو الذي خلقكم من تراب ثم من نطفة ثم من علقة ثم﴾ [غَافِر: 67]
| Dr Kamal Omar He it is Who created you (as Adam) from clay, afterwards from Nutfah, then from a clinging mass. Then He brings forth you as a child, then keeps you growing in order that you may reach to your full strength; then He keeps you alive that you may become senior citizens. And of you is that whose life-span is completed before (reaching this senior age), and (all these differences in age exist to make you realise) that you reach an appointed (and) specified term (or life-span), and perchance you may use intellect |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He it is Who created you from earth dust, again, from seminal fluid, again, from a clot. Again, He brings you out as infant children. Again, you come of age and are fully grown. Again, you be an old man. And of you is he whom death calls to itself before, and that you reach a term, that which is determined so that perhaps you will be reasonable |
| Dr Munir Munshey It is He Who created you first from dust and then from a drop (of semen), and then from a clot of blood. He brought you out as (a weak and helpless) infant. Then, (He lets you grow) so you may achieve your full potential. (He lets you live further) so that you may reach an advanced old age. (He causes) some of you to die prematurely! (All this is done) so you may reach the appointed time (set by Him), and so that you may understand (the reality of life) |

| Maududi He it is Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot; then He brings you out as an infant, then causes you to grow into full maturity, and then causes you to grow further so that you may reach old age, while some of you He recalls earlier. All this is in order that you may reach an appointed term and that you may understand (the Truth) |
