Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 145 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 8
Dr Kamal Omar Say: “I do not find in that what has been inspired to me a forbidden item to (any) consumer who eats it except that it becomes (meat of) dead (animal), or blood which has gushed out (or poured forth from the organs and tissues of an animal slaughtered or killed by shooting), or the flesh of swine (like pork and ham etc.), for surely that is Rijs or Fisq (what has been) pronounced for / dedicated to other than Allah, alongwith Him. So whoever became helpless — not (being) wilfully disobedient and neither (being) one who knowingly breaks the limits — then surely your Nourisher-Sustainer is Oft-Forgiving, continuously Merciful |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: I find not in what was revealed to me to taste that which is forbidden to taste, but that it be carrion or blood, that which is shed or the flesh of swine for that, truly, is a disgrace or was hallowed—contrary to moral law—to other than God on it. Then, whoever was driven by necessity other than being one who is willfully disobedient or one who turns away. Then, truly, thy Lord is Forgiving, Compassionate |
Dr Munir Munshey (Oh Muhammad, SAW) say, "In the revelation sent to me, I find nothing that prohibits anyone from eating anything except: the (unslaughtered) dead animal, blood poured forth (at the time of slaughter), the flesh of swine because it is filthy, and the sinful food presented as an offering to beings, other than Allah. But if one is compelled by dire need _ and not by haughtiness or habit _ then of course Allah is the most Forgiving and the most Merciful |
Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'I cannot find in what I am inspired with anything unlawful for the taster to taste; unless it be dead (of itself), or blood that has been shed, or the flesh of swine,- for that is a horror - or an abomination that is consecrated to other than God. But he who is forced, not willfully nor transgressing,- then, verily, thy Lord is forgiving and merciful |
Farook Malik O Muhammad tell them: I did not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, except the meat of an already dead animal, or running blood or the flesh of swine (pork) - for these are unclean - or flesh of an animal which has become profane because of slaughtering in the names other than Allah. Even so, if anyone is forced in a helpless situation, intending neither disobedience nor transgression, you will find your Lord Forgiving, Merciful |
George Sale Say, I find not in that which hath been revealed unto me, any thing forbidden unto the eater, that he eat it not, except it be that which dieth of it self, or blood poured forth, or swine's flesh: For this is an abomination: Or that which is profane, having been slain in the name of some other than of God. But whoso shall be compelled by necessity to eat of these things, not lusting, nor wilfully transgressing, verily thy Lord will be gracious unto him and merciful |
Maududi Tell them (O Muhammad!): ´I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden for anyone who wants to eat unless it is carrion, outpoured blood and the flesh of swine, all of which is unclean; or that which is profane having been slaughtered in a name other than that of Allah. But whosoever is constrained to it by necessity - neither desiring to disobey nor exceeding the limit of necessity - your Lord is surely AllForgiving, All-Compassionate |
