﴿ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتَّ مِنۡهُمۡ ثُمَّ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ مَرَّةٖ وَهُمۡ لَا يَتَّقُونَ ﴾
[الأنفَال: 56]
﴿الذين عاهدت منهم ثم ينقضون عهدهم في كل مرة وهم لا يتقون﴾ [الأنفَال: 56]
| Dr Kamal Omar those with whom you made a covenant, then they break away their covenant each and every time and they do not pay obedience (to Allah) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Those with whom thou hast made a contract, again, they break their compact every time and they are not Godfearing |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Particularly) those with whom you entered into a pact, and who broke their pledges each and every time. They do not fear (the punishment of Allah) |
| Edward Henry Palmer with whom if thou dost make a league, they break their league each time, for they fear not God |
| Farook Malik Those who make treaties with you and time after time violate their treaties, and have no fear of Allah |
| George Sale As to those who enter into a league with thee, and afterwards violate their league at every convenient opportunity, and fear not God |
| Maududi (especially) those with whom you entered into a covenant and then they broke their covenant time after time, and who do not fear Allah |
