Quran with British translation - Surah Al-Baqarah ayat 109 - البَقَرَة - Page - Juz 1
﴿وَدَّ كَثِيرٞ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَوۡ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ كُفَّارًا حَسَدٗا مِّنۡ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَٱعۡفُواْ وَٱصۡفَحُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ ﴾

﴿ود كثير من أهل الكتاب لو يردونكم من بعد إيمانكم كفارا حسدا﴾ [البَقَرَة: 109]
Mohammad Habib Shakir Many of the followers of the Book wish that they could turn you back into unbelievers after your faith, out of envy from themselves, (even) after the truth has become manifest to them; but pardon and forgive, so that Allah should bring about His command; surely Allah has power over all things |
Mohammad Shafi Many among the people of the Book, after what rendered the Truth manifest unto them, would wish, out of their own jealousy, that if only they could turn you back after your attaining to Faith! Forgive and forget for now, until further orders from Alla. Surely, Allah is in control of everything |
