﴿وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 34]
﴿وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس أبى واستكبر وكان من﴾ [البَقَرَة: 34]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam they did obeisance, but Iblis (did it not). He refused and he was proud, and he was one of the unbelievers |
| Mohammad Shafi And when We asked the angels to prostrate before Adam, prostrated they all except for Iblees. He (Iblees) refused and was proud and became one of the suppressors of Truth |
