Quran with British translation - Surah Al-hajj ayat 45 - الحج - Page - Juz 17
﴿فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئۡرٖ مُّعَطَّلَةٖ وَقَصۡرٖ مَّشِيدٍ ﴾
[الحج: 45]
﴿فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة﴾ [الحج: 45]
Mohammad Habib Shakir So how many a town did We destroy while it was unjust, so it was fallen down upon its roofs, and (how many a) deserted well and palace raised high |
Mohammad Shafi And many a town/village We did destroy when it committed injustices. And it lay in ruins with its roofs coming down.. And many a well and lofty castle were deserted |
