Quran with English translation - Surah Al-hajj ayat 45 - الحج - Page - Juz 17
﴿فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئۡرٖ مُّعَطَّلَةٖ وَقَصۡرٖ مَّشِيدٍ ﴾
[الحج: 45]
﴿فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة﴾ [الحج: 45]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al How many populations have We caused to perish which were given to wrongdoing which tumbled down on their roofs? And how many wells are lying idle and neglected, as well as castles lofty and well-built |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And how many a town did We destroy while it was (filled with) wrongdoer, then it (was ruined and) fell on its roofs and abandoned wells and towering castles |
Ali Quli Qarai How many towns We have destroyed when they had been wrongdoers! So they lie fallen on their trellises, their wells neglected and their ruined palaces |
Ali Unal How many a township have We destroyed because it was given up to wrongdoing: so they all lie in ruins, with their roofs caved in, wells and fountains deserted, and towering, lofty castles collapsed |
Hamid S Aziz And how many a city (community) have We destroyed while it was guilty (did wrong), and it tumbled down on its roof, lying ruined to this day, and how many a deserted well and lofty palace |
John Medows Rodwell And how many cities which had been ungodly, and whose roofs are now laid low in ruin, have We destroyed! And wells have been abandoned and lofty castles |
Literal So how many from a village/urban city We made it die/destroyed it, and it is unjust/oppressive, so it is empty/destroyed on its ceilings/structures , and a well abandoned/inactive , and an erected/plastered castle/palace |
Mir Anees Original Then did they not travel in the earth so as to have hearts (minds) with which they could understand or ears with which they could hear? Then certainly, the eyes are not blind but the hearts, that are in the bosoms, are blind |
