Quran with British translation - Surah Al-‘Ankabut ayat 25 - العَنكبُوت - Page - Juz 20
﴿وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡثَٰنٗا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُ بَعۡضُكُم بِبَعۡضٖ وَيَلۡعَنُ بَعۡضُكُم بَعۡضٗا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 25]
﴿وقال إنما اتخذتم من دون الله أوثانا مودة بينكم في الحياة الدنيا﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 25]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And he said: You have only taken for yourselves idols besides Allah by way of friendship between you in this world's life, then on the resurrection day some of you shall deny others, and some of you shall curse others, and your abode is the fire, and you shall not have any helpers |
| Mohammad Shafi And he (Abraham) said, "You have taken mere idols, instead of Allah, as mutual objects of affection amongst you in the life of this world. Then on the Day of Resurrection you shall deny each other and you shall curse each other. And the Fire shall be your abode. And you shall have none to help you |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And he (Ibrāhīm) said, “You have adopted idols instead of Allah, only because of love (you have) with each other in the worldly life. Then on the Day of Judgment you will reject each other, and will curse each other. And your abode is the Fire, and you will have no helpers.” |
| Muhammad Asad And [Abraham] said: “You have chosen to worship idols instead of God for no other reason than to have a bond of love in the life of this world, between yourselves [and your forebears]: but then, on Resurrection Day, you shall disown one another and curse one another - for the goal of you all will be the fire, and you will have none to succour you |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And he said, "Surely you have taken to yourselves graven images, apart form Allah, only as (a mark of mutual) amity between you in the present life (Literally: the lowly life, i.e., the life of this world) thereafter on the Day of the Resurrection you will disbelieve in each other, and you will curse each other, (Literally: some of you will curse some "others") and your abode is the Fire, and in no way will you have any vindicators |
| Muhammad Sarwar Abraham said, "You believe in idols besides God only out of worldly love, but on the Day of Judgment you will reject and condemn each other. Your dwelling will be fire and no one will help you |

| N J Dawood He said: ‘You have chosen idols instead of God, but your love of them will last only in this nether life. On the Day of Resurrection you shall disown one another, and you shall curse one another. Your abode shall be the Fire, and none shall succour you.‘ |
| Safi Kaskas [Abraham] said, "You have chosen [to worship] idols other than God, but your bond of affection with them will be only in this worldly life. On the Day of Resurrection, you will deny and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, [where] you will have no helpers |
