Quran with British translation - Surah sad ayat 34 - صٓ - Page - Juz 23
﴿وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا سُلَيۡمَٰنَ وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا عَلَىٰ كُرۡسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدٗا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ ﴾
[صٓ: 34]
﴿ولقد فتنا سليمان وألقينا على كرسيه جسدا ثم أناب﴾ [صٓ: 34]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah) |
| Mohammad Shafi And We did certainly put Solomon on trial by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned in repentance to Us |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And verily We tried Solomon, and set upon his throne a (mere) body. Then did he repent |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And indeed We tested Sulaimān while We threw on his throne a body after which he turned (to Us) |
| Muhammad Asad But [ere this], indeed, We had tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned [towards Us; and] |

| N J Dawood We put Solomon to the proof and placed a body upon his throne, so that he at length repented |
