﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا تَنَٰجَيۡتُمۡ فَلَا تَتَنَٰجَوۡاْ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِ وَمَعۡصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَٰجَوۡاْ بِٱلۡبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ﴾
[المُجَادلة: 9]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا إذا تناجيتم فلا تتناجوا بالإثم والعدوان ومعصية الرسول وتناجوا﴾ [المُجَادلة: 9]
Mohammad Habib Shakir O you who believe! when you confer together in private, do not give to each other counsel of sin and revolt and disobedience to the Apostle, and give to each other counsel of goodness and guarding (against evil); and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, to Whom you shall be gathered together |
Mohammad Shafi O you who believe! When you confer in secrecy, confer not for crime and hostility and for rebelling against the Messenger, but confer for righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, unto whom you will be gathered |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall O ye who believe! When ye conspire together, conspire not together for crime and wrongdoing and disobedience toward the messenger, but conspire together for righteousness and piety, and keep your duty toward Allah, unto whom ye will be gathered |
Mufti Taqi Usmani O you who believe, when you hold secret counsel, do not whisper for sinful act and wrongdoing and disobedience of the prophet, and do whisper for righteousness and taqwā (piety). And fear Allah, before whom you will be gathered together |
Muhammad Asad [Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, when you do hold secret confabulations, do not conspire with one another with a view to sinful doings, and aggressive conduct, and disobedience to the Apostle, but [rather] hold counsel in the cause of virtue and God-consciousness: and [always] remain conscious of God, unto whom you all shall be gathered |
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali O you who have believed, when you confer privately together, then do not confer privately in vice and all-pervading hostility and disobedience to the Messenger; and confer privately (together) in benignacy and piety; and be pious to Allah, to Whom you will be mustered |

Safi Kaskas Believers, when you converse privately, do not converse about committing wrongdoing, aggression and defiance of the Messenger, but converse about righteousness and being mindful of God. Be ever mindful of God, to whom you will be gathered |
