Quran with English translation - Surah al-‘Imran ayat 118 - آل عِمران - Page - Juz 4
﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ بِطَانَةٗ مِّن دُونِكُمۡ لَا يَأۡلُونَكُمۡ خَبَالٗا وَدُّواْ مَا عَنِتُّمۡ قَدۡ بَدَتِ ٱلۡبَغۡضَآءُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَمَا تُخۡفِي صُدُورُهُمۡ أَكۡبَرُۚ قَدۡ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 118]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا لا تتخذوا بطانة من دونكم لا يألونكم خبالا ودوا﴾ [آل عِمران: 118]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al O you who believe, do not take as confidants those other than yourselves. They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, what their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the signs, if you are wise |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad You who believe, do not take any confidant besides yourselves, as they will not stop to drive you crazy, and they wish you what agonizes you, hatred has appeared from (words of) their mouths , and what their chests hides is even greater. We have clarified Our signs for you, if you understand |
| Ali Quli Qarai O you who have faith! Do not take your confidants from others than yourselves; they will spare nothing to ruin you. They are eager to see you in distress. Hatred has already shown itself from their mouths, and what their breasts hide [within] is yet worse. We have certainly made the signs clear for you, should you exercise your reason |
| Ali Unal O you who believe! Take not for intimates from among others than your own people, for those (who especially cherish hostility towards you) spare no effort to ruin you, and yearn for you to always suffer. Hatred has shown itself by their mouths, and what their bosoms conceal is even greater. Now We have told you the manifest truths, if you reason and understand |
| Hamid S Aziz O you who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would not fail to ruin you; they love to obstruct you. Hatred is shown by their mouths; but what their breasts conceal is greater still. We have made manifest to you Our revelations |
| John Medows Rodwell O ye who have believed! form not intimacies among others than yourselves. They will not fail to corrupt you. They long for your ruin. Hatred hath already shewn itself out of their mouths, but more grievous is what their breasts conceal. The tokens thereof we have already made plain to you, if ye will comprehend |
| Literal You, you those who believed, do not take a confidant from other than you, they do not slacken/relax in (causing) degeneration/corruption (to) you, they loved/wished what you suffered (from) exertion/burden . The intense, hatred/animosity appeared from their mouths, and what their chests (innermosts) hide (is) greater/bigger. | Mir Anees Original O you who believe ! do not take into intimacy people other than your own, they will not spare anything to inflict loss on you, they love that which distresses you, hatred has (already) appeared through their mouths and that which they hide in their bosoms is greater. We have made clear to you the signs if you are those who understand |
| Mir Aneesuddin O believers! Do not associate closely with those who would not miss a chance to harm you. Their only desire is to see you suffer. Their prejudice has become evident from what they say—and what they hide in their hearts is far worse. We have made Our revelations clear to you, if only you understood |
