Quran with English translation - Surah Luqman ayat 12 - لُقمَان - Page - Juz 21
﴿وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا لُقۡمَٰنَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ أَنِ ٱشۡكُرۡ لِلَّهِۚ وَمَن يَشۡكُرۡ فَإِنَّمَا يَشۡكُرُ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٞ ﴾
[لُقمَان: 12]
﴿ولقد آتينا لقمان الحكمة أن اشكر لله ومن يشكر فإنما يشكر لنفسه﴾ [لُقمَان: 12]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al We bestowed in the past, this wisdom on Luqman, “Show your gratitude to God.” Any who is grateful, does so to the profit of his own soul, but if any is ungrateful, indeed God is free of all wants, worthy of all praise |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And We have certainly given Luqman the wisdom (saying): be thankful to God, And whoever is grateful, then he is only grateful for himself, and whoever is ungrateful then indeed God is needless and praiseworthy |
Ali Quli Qarai Certainly We gave Luqman wisdom, saying, ‘Give thanks to Allah; and whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful, [let him know that] Allah is indeed all-sufficient, all-laudable.’ |
Ali Unal We surely granted wisdom to Luqman and said: "Give thanks to God." Whoever gives thanks to God, gives thanks but for (the good of) his own soul; and whoever is ungrateful, surely God is the All-Wealthy and Self-Sufficient (absolutely independent of the whole creation), All-Praiseworthy |
Hamid S Aziz Verily, We did give unto Luqman wisdom, saying, "Thank Allah; for he who thanks Allah is only thankful for his own soul; and he who is ungrateful - verily, Allah is Absolute (Independent, Self-sufficient), Owner of all praise |
John Medows Rodwell Of old we bestowed wisdom upon LOKMAN, and taught him thus - "Be thankful to God: for whoever is thankful, is thankful to his own behoof; and if any shall be thankless . . . God truly is self-sufficient, worthy of all praise |
Literal And We had given/brought Lukman the wisdom that (E) thank/be grateful to God, and who thanks/is grateful, so but he thanks/is grateful to/for his self, and who disbelieved, so then God (is) rich, praiseworthy/commendable |
Mir Anees Original And indeed We gave wisdom to Luqman, that: be grateful to Allah, and one who is grateful then he is grateful only for (the benefit of) his own soul, and one who is ungrateful then Allah is certainly Independent, Praised, fit of) his own soul, and one who is ungrateful then Allah is certainly Independent, Praised |
