﴿يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِيِّ لَسۡتُنَّ كَأَحَدٖ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيۡتُنَّۚ فَلَا تَخۡضَعۡنَ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ فَيَطۡمَعَ ٱلَّذِي فِي قَلۡبِهِۦ مَرَضٞ وَقُلۡنَ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 32]
﴿يانساء النبي لستن كأحد من النساء إن اتقيتن فلا تخضعن بالقول فيطمع﴾ [الأحزَاب: 32]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any of the other women. If you realize it, do not speak intuitively, lest one in whose heart is sickness should be moved with expectations, but speak as you should |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Wives of the prophet, you are not like anyone of the women. If you are cautious (of God), then do not be soft in the speech so the one who has a disease in his heart does not desire (you), and speak in proper word (and manner) |
Ali Quli Qarai O wives of the Prophet! You are not like other women: if you are wary [of Allah], do not be complaisant in your speech, lest he in whose heart is a sickness should aspire; speak honourable words |
Ali Unal O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any of the other women, provided that you keep from disobedience to God in reverence for Him and piety (and therefore act with awareness of your special status). So (even more than other believing women) do not be complaisant in your speech (when addressing men), lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved to desire, but speak in an honorable way |
