﴿وَقَرۡنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجۡنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَأَقِمۡنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعۡنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذۡهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ تَطۡهِيرٗا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 33]
﴿وقرن في بيوتكن ولا تبرجن تبرج الجاهلية الأولى وأقمن الصلاة وآتين الزكاة﴾ [الأحزَاب: 33]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al And dwell in your homes without flaunting yourselves like those of the days of ignorance, and establish prayer, and give zakat, and follow God and His messenger. God wishes only to remove all character flaws from you, and the members of your family, in order to refine you |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And stay in your houses and do not display your beauties like displaying in the old days of ignorance, and perform the mandatory prayer and give to the mandatory charity and obey God and His messenger. God only wants to remove the filth from you, people of the household (of the prophet), and to cleanse you, a total cleansing |
| Ali Quli Qarai Stay in your houses and do not flaunt your finery like the former [days of pagan] ignorance. Maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Indeed Allah desires to repel all impurity from you, O People of the Household, and purify you with a thorough purification |
| Ali Unal And (prefer to) remain in your homes (unless there is a need. If you do go out for a need) do not go out flaunting your charms as (women used to do) in the former times of Ignorance. And establish the Prayer in conformity with its conditions, and pay the Prescribed Purifying Alms, and obey God and His Messenger (in whatever they command). God only wills to remove from you, O members of the (Prophet’s) household, all that may be loathsome, and to purify you to the utmost of purity |
| Hamid S Aziz And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only desires to keep away uncleanness from you, O people of the Househo |
| John Medows Rodwell And abide still in your houses, and go not in public decked as in the days of your former ignorance, but observe prayer, and pay the impost, and obey God and the Apostle: for God only desireth to put away filthiness from you as his household, and with cleansing to cleanse you |
| Literal And join/dwell/be respected in your houses/homes, and do not show your beauty/decoration, the first pre-Islamic paganism`s/ignorance`s showing off (of) beauty/decoration, and stand/keep up (F) the prayers, and give/bring the charity/purification, and obey God and His messenger, truly God wants to eliminate/wipe off from you the filth/torture, people (of) the House/Home, and He purifies you purification |
| Mir Anees Original And stay in your houses and do not expose yourselves (in the manner of the) exposition of the earlier days of ignorance (before Islam), and establish worship (salat) and give charity (zakat) and obey Allah and His messenger. Allah only intends to remove the uncleanliness from you, O people of the house, and clean you (with a good) cleaning |
