Quran with English translation - Surah Ghafir ayat 22 - غَافِر - Page - Juz 24
﴿ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَانَت تَّأۡتِيهِمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَكَفَرُواْ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِيّٞ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ﴾
[غَافِر: 22]
﴿ذلك بأنهم كانت تأتيهم رسلهم بالبينات فكفروا فأخذهم الله إنه قوي شديد﴾ [غَافِر: 22]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al That was because there came to them their messengers with guidance, but they rejected them. So God called them to account, for He is Full of Strength, Strict in Punishment |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad That is because their messengers were bringing them the clear proofs but they disbelieved, so God took them. Indeed He is strong, severe in punishment |
| Ali Quli Qarai That was because their apostles used to bring them manifest proofs, but they defied [them]. So Allah seized them. Indeed He is all-strong, severe in retribution |
| Ali Unal That was because the Messengers sent to them came to them with clear proofs of the truth, but they obstinately disbelieved; and so God seized them. Surely He is All-Strong, Severe in retribution |
| Hamid S Aziz That was because there came to them their messengers with clear arguments, but they rejected (them), therefore Allah destroyed them; surely He is Strong, Severe in retribution |
| John Medows Rodwell This, because their apostles had come to them with proofs of their mission, and they believed not: so God took them in hand; for He is mighty, vehement in punishing |
| Literal That (is) because they (E), their messengers were coming to them with the evidences, so they disbelieved, so God punished/took them , that He truly is strong, strong (severe in) the punishment |
