Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Ahqaf ayat 26 - الأحقَاف - Page - Juz 26
﴿وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّٰهُمۡ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰكُمۡ فِيهِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ سَمۡعٗا وَأَبۡصَٰرٗا وَأَفۡـِٔدَةٗ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَفۡـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِذۡ كَانُواْ يَجۡحَدُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 26]
﴿ولقد مكناهم فيما إن مكناكم فيه وجعلنا لهم سمعا وأبصارا وأفئدة فما﴾ [الأحقَاف: 26]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al And We had firmly established them as We have established none other, and We had endowed them with hearing, vision, and feeling, but of no profit to them was their hearing, vision, and feeling when they went on rejecting the signs of God, and they were surrounded by that which they used to mock |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And We have certainly given them powers in that which We did not give you power in it, and We gave them hearing and eyes and hearts, but their hearing and their eyes and their hearts was of no use to them at all when they were rejecting God’s signs, and what they used to ridicule it (the punishment) surrounded them |
| Ali Quli Qarai Certainly We had granted them power in respects that We have not granted you, and We had vested them with hearing and sight and hearts. But neither their hearing availed them in any way nor did their sight, nor their hearts when they used to impugn the signs of Allah. So they were besieged by what they used to deride |
| Ali Unal We had, assuredly, given them such power and prosperity (on the earth) that We have not given to you (O Quraysh), and We had endowed them with hearing and eyes and hearts (all the means of perception, outward and inward). But neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts, availed them anything, as they obstinately rejected God’s signs and Revelations, and what they used to mock overwhelmed them |

| John Medows Rodwell With power had we endued them, even as with power have we endued you; and we had given them ears and eyes and hearts: yet neither their eyes, nor their ears, nor their hearts aided them at all, when once they gainsaid the signs of God; but that punishment which they had mocked at enveloped them on all sides |
| Literal And We had (E) highly positioned/strengthened them in what We have not highly positioned/strengthened you in it, and We made/put for them a sense of hearing , and eye sights, and hearts , so their sense of hearing , and nor their eye sights, and nor their hearts did not enrich/suffice from them a thing when they were disbelieving and denying with God`s evidences/verses ; and what they were with it mocking/making fun of surrounded/encircled with them |
| Mir Anees Original And We had indeed established them in (a condition) in which We have not established you. And We made for them (the means of) hearing and seeing and the hearts, but their hearing and their seeing and their hearts were of no use to them in anything when they knowingly rejected Allah’s signs, and that which they used to mock at engulfed them |
