Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Ma’idah ayat 106 - المَائدة - Page - Juz 7
﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ شَهَٰدَةُ بَيۡنِكُمۡ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ حِينَ ٱلۡوَصِيَّةِ ٱثۡنَانِ ذَوَا عَدۡلٖ مِّنكُمۡ أَوۡ ءَاخَرَانِ مِنۡ غَيۡرِكُمۡ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَأَصَٰبَتۡكُم مُّصِيبَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۚ تَحۡبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَيُقۡسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرۡتَبۡتُمۡ لَا نَشۡتَرِي بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا وَلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰ وَلَا نَكۡتُمُ شَهَٰدَةَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡأٓثِمِينَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 106]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا شهادة بينكم إذا حضر أحدكم الموت حين الوصية اثنان﴾ [المَائدة: 106]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al O you who believe, when death approaches any of you, take witnesses among yourselves when making wills, take two just people from your brothers, or two others from outside if you are journeying through the earth and the chance of death befalls you. If you doubt their words, keep them both after prayer, and let them both swear by God, “We do not want any worldly gain, even though the beneficiary is a near relative. We will not hide the proof before God, and if we do, then behold, the sin is on us.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad You who believe, when the death gets to any of you, take two witnesses from just persons among yourself during making of the will, or from other than yourselves if you are traveling in the land and the tragedy of death hits you. If you have doubt, hold them after the mandatory prayer so they swear by God that: we will not sell it for any price even if it is for our relatives (or close ones), and we will not hide God’s testimony, in that case we will be among the sinners |
| Ali Quli Qarai O you who have faith! The witness between you, when death approaches any of you, while making a bequest, shall be two fair men from among yourselves—or two from among others, if you are journeying in the land and the affliction of death visits you. You shall detain the two of them after the prayer, and, if you have any doubt, they shall vow by Allah, ‘We will not sell it for any gain, even if it were a relative, nor will we conceal the testimony of Allah, for then we would indeed be among the sinners.’ |
| Ali Unal O you who believe! Let there be witnesses among you when death approaches you, at the time of making bequests – two straightforward and trustworthy persons from among your own people (the Muslim community), or two other persons from among people other than your own (from among the People of the Book) if you are on a journey (and there are no Muslims) when the affliction of death befalls you. Then if any doubt arises (concerning their testimony), have the two of them stay (in the mosque) after the Prayer, and they shall swear by God: "We will not sell our testimony for any price, even if it concerns one near of kin, nor will we conceal the testimony of God (namely, the truth), for then we would surely be among the sinful |
| Hamid S Aziz O you who believe! Let there be a witnesses among you when any of you is on the point of death at the time he makes his will - two equitable persons from amongst your family or two others from some other folk, in case you are journeying away in the land |
| John Medows Rodwell O believers! let there be witnesses between you, when death draweth nigh to any of you, at the time of making the testament; two witnesses - just men from among yourselves, or two others of a different tribe from yourselves - if ye be journeying in the earth, and the calamity of death surprise you. Ye shall shut them both up, after the prayer; and if ye doubt them, they shall swear by God, "We will not take a bribe though the party be of kin to us, neither will we conceal the testimony of God, for then we should be among the wicked |
| Literal You, you those who believed testimony between you if the death attended any of you (at the) time of the bequest/will (bring) two of justice from you or two others from other than you, if you, you moved/mixed in the Earth/land, so the death`s/liflessness`s disaster struck you , you prevent/withhold them (B) from after the prayers, so they (B) swear/make oath with God: "If you become doubtful/suspicious we do not buy volunteer (ourselves) with it a price, and even if (he or she was) of the relations/near, and we do not hide/conceal God`s witness/certification , that we are then from (E) the sinners/criminals |
| Mir Anees Original O you who believe ! when death approaches one of you, let there be witnesses between you at the time of making bequest, two just men from among you or two others from other than you, if you are journeying in the earth and the calamity of death befalls you, then detain the two (witnesses) after the worship (salat), if you doubt (their honesty) then let them swear by Allah (saying), "We will not sell (the testimony) for (any) price, though there be a relative (involved in the benefit) and we will not hide the evidence of Allah, in that case we will be among the sinners |
| Mir Aneesuddin O you who believe ! when death approaches one of you, let there be witnesses between you at the time of making bequest, two just men from among you or two others from other than you, if you are journeying in the earth and the calamity of death befalls you, then detain the two (witnesses) after the worship (salat), if you doubt (their honesty) then let them swear by God (saying), "We will not sell (the testimony) for (any) price, though there be a relative (involved in the benefit) and we will not hide the evidence of God, in that case we will be among the sinners |
