Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Mumtahanah ayat 9 - المُمتَحنَة - Page - Juz 28
﴿إِنَّمَا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَأَخۡرَجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ وَظَٰهَرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ إِخۡرَاجِكُمۡ أَن تَوَلَّوۡهُمۡۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُمۡ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[المُمتَحنَة: 9]
﴿إنما ينهاكم الله عن الذين قاتلوكم في الدين وأخرجوكم من دياركم وظاهروا﴾ [المُمتَحنَة: 9]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al God only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for your faith, and drive you out of your homes, or help in driving you out, from turning to them. It is those who turn to them who do wrong |
| Ali Quli Qarai Allah forbids you only in regard to those who made war against you on account of religion and expelled you from your homes and supported [the polytheists of Makkah] in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them—it is they who are the wrongdoers |
| Ali Unal God only forbids you, as regards those who make war against you on account of your Religion and drive you away from your homes, or support others to drive you away, to take them for friends and guardians. Whoever takes them for friends and guardians, those are the wrongdoers |

| John Medows Rodwell Only doth God forbid you to make friends of those who, on account of your religion, have warred against you, and have driven you forth from your homes, and have aided those who drove you forth: and whoever maketh friends of them are wrong-doers |
| Mir Anees Original Allah forbids you, only with regard to those who fight with you on account of (your) religion and drive you out of your houses and help (others) in driving you out,(from) making friendship with them, and whoever makes friendship with them, then those are the persons who are unjust |
