Quran with English translation - Surah Al-A‘raf ayat 85 - الأعرَاف - Page - Juz 8
﴿وَإِلَىٰ مَدۡيَنَ أَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥۖ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡكُم بَيِّنَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۖ فَأَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ إِصۡلَٰحِهَاۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 85]
﴿وإلى مدين أخاهم شعيبا قال ياقوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إله﴾ [الأعرَاف: 85]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al To the Madyan people We sent Shu’aib, one of their own brothers. He said, “O my people, worship God, you have no other god but Him. Now there has come to you guidance from your Lord, so give just measure and weight, and do not withhold from the people the things due to them. And create no chaos on the earth after it has been set in order. That will be best for you, if you have faith |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And to (people of) Midian (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: my people, serve God, you have no god other than Him, a clear proof has come to you from your Master, so give full measure and weight and do not undervalue peoples' things and do not commit corruption on the earth after it is set in order, this is best for you if you are believers |
| Ali Quli Qarai And to [the people of] Midian [We sent] Shu‘ayb, their brother. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. Observe fully the measure and the balance, and do not cheat the people of their goods, and do not cause corruption on the earth after its restoration. That is better for you, if you are faithful |
| Ali Unal And to (the people of) Midian (We sent) their brother Shu‘ayb as Messenger. He (conveying the same message) said: "O my people! Worship God alone: you have no deity other than Him. A manifest proof has assuredly come to you from your Lord. So give full measure and weight (in all your dealings), and do not wrong people by depriving them of what is rightfully theirs, and do not cause disorder and corruption in the land seeing that it has been so well ordered. That is for your own good, if you are (to be) true believers |
| Hamid S Aziz And unto Median did We send their brother Shu´eyb (Jethro?), who said, "O my people! Serve Allah; you have no God save Him. There has come to you a manifest Sign from your Lord. So give good weight and full measure, and be not niggardly of your |
| John Medows Rodwell And we sent to Madian their brother Shoaib. He said, "O my people! worship God; ye have no other God than Him: now hath a clear sign come to you from your Lord: give therefore the full in measures and weights; take from no man his chattels, and commit no disorder on the earth after it has been made so good. This will be better for you, if you will believe it |
| Literal And to Madya/an ancient city, that could have been by the Red Sea, (We sent) their brother Shu`aib, he said: "My nation, worship God, (there is) no God for you from other than Him, an evidence had come to you from your Lord, so fulfill/complete the measuring/weighing device, and the scale/measuring instrument , and do not reduce/cheat the people (from) their things, and do not corrupt/disorder in the earth/Planet Earth, (from) after its correction/repairment, that (is) better for you, if you were believing |
| Mir Anees Original And to Midian (We had sent) their brother Shuaib, he said, "O my people ! serve Allah, you have no god other that Him. Clear proof has come to you from your Fosterer so give back full measure and weight, and (with regard to) goods, do not give to people anything which is less than what is due to them, and do not cause corruption in the earth after it has been set right. That is the best for you if you are believers |
