﴿قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّي وَءَاتَىٰنِي رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَنُلۡزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمۡ لَهَا كَٰرِهُونَ ﴾
[هُود: 28]
﴿قال ياقوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي وآتاني رحمة من﴾ [هُود: 28]
Shabbir Ahmed Noah said, "O My people! Bethink! What if I am taking my stand on clear evidence from my Lord? What if He has blessed me out of His Grace of guidance? It is obscure to you because you are not seeing it through the eyes of reason. In any case, can we compel you to accept what you don't like |
Syed Vickar Ahamed He (Nuh, Noah) said: "O my people! Tell me, if (it is that), I have a Clear Sign from my Lord, and that He has sent (His) Mercy to me from His own Presence, and that (the Mercy) is hidden from your sight? Shall we compel you to accept it when you do not like it |
Talal A Itani New Translation He said, 'O my people, Have you considered? If I stand on clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, but you were blind to it, can we compel you to accept it, even though you dislike it |
Talal Itani He said, “O my people, Have you considered? If I stand on clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, but you were blind to it, can we compel you to accept it, even though you dislike it?” |
Tbirving He said: "My people, have you considered whether I have [brought] any explanation from my Lord? He has sent me mercy from His presence, although it has been disguised so far as you are concerned. Shall we compel you to [accept] it while you dislike it |
The Monotheist Group Edition He said: "My people, do you not see that I have clarity from my Lord and He gave me mercy from Himself, but it has been blinded to you Shall we compel you to it while you have a hatred to it |

Umm Muhammad He said, "O my people have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord while He has given me mercy from Himself but it has been made unapparent to you, should we force it upon you while you are averse to it |
Wahiduddin Khan He said, "O my people, tell me: if I have clear evidence from my Lord and He has favoured me with grace from Himself, which you have been unable to recognize, can we force it on you against your will |
Yusuf Ali Orig He said: "O my people! See ye if (it be that) I have a Clear Sign from my Lord, and that He hath sent Mercy unto me from His own presence, but that the Mercy hath been obscured from your sight? shall we compel you to accept it when ye are aver se to it |
