﴿قَالُواْ يَٰلُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوٓاْ إِلَيۡكَۖ فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَكَۖ إِنَّهُۥ مُصِيبُهَا مَآ أَصَابَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ مَوۡعِدَهُمُ ٱلصُّبۡحُۚ أَلَيۡسَ ٱلصُّبۡحُ بِقَرِيبٖ ﴾

﴿قالوا يالوط إنا رسل ربك لن يصلوا إليك فأسر بأهلك بقطع من﴾ [هُود: 81]
Shabbir Ahmed The visiting Messengers said, "O Lot! Behold, we are Messengers of your Lord. Never shall they follow your guidance nor shall be able to catch up to you. Depart then, with your household and followers, while it is yet night. Leave this land never to look back again. Except your wife for, what befalls the people will befall her as well. Their appointed time is the morning, and isn't the morning near? (She stays behind because she has chosen to go along with the trends of the times. And she is among those who remain silent at the prevalent wrongdoing) |
Syed Vickar Ahamed They (the messengers) said: "O Lut (Lot)! Verily we are messengers from your Lord in no way can they reach you! Now travel with your family in a (remaining) part of the night and let not any of you look back: But your wife (will remain behind): The punishment for the people will (also) be upon her; Indeed, their appointed time is the morning: Is the morning not near |
