﴿فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ غَضۡبَٰنَ أَسِفٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَلَمۡ يَعِدۡكُمۡ رَبُّكُمۡ وَعۡدًا حَسَنًاۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡعَهۡدُ أَمۡ أَرَدتُّمۡ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غَضَبٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ فَأَخۡلَفۡتُم مَّوۡعِدِي ﴾
[طه: 86]
﴿فرجع موسى إلى قومه غضبان أسفا قال ياقوم ألم يعدكم ربكم وعدا﴾ [طه: 86]
| Abdel Haleem Moses returned to his people, angry and aggrieved. He said, ‘My people, did your Lord not make you a gracious promise? Was my absence too long for you? Did you want anger to fall on you from your Lord and so broke your word to me?’ |
| Abdul Hye Then Moses returned to his people with anger and sorrow. He said: “O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a fair promise? Did then the promise to you seem long? Or did you desire that Wrath from your Lord should descend on you, so you broke your promise to me?” |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me |
