﴿أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 18]
﴿أولئك الذين حق عليهم القول في أمم قد خلت من قبلهم من﴾ [الأحقَاف: 18]
| Abdel Haleem The verdict has been passed on such people, along with all the communities that went before them, jinn and human: they are lost |
| Abdul Hye They are those against whom the word (of punishment) is justified and they will be among the previous generations of jinns and mankind that surely have passed away. Surely! They will be the losers |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Such are they against whom is proved the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, that have passed away; for they will be (utterly) lost |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Those are they upon whom hath been justified the saying about the communities of the Jinn and mankind who have passed away before them; verily they are ever the losers |
| Ahmed Ali They are those on whom the sentence of God would be justified as on communities of jinns and men before them. They will surely perish |
