﴿لَّقَدۡ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَٰثَةٖۘ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّآ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۚ وَإِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهُواْ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴾
[المَائدة: 73]
﴿لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله ثالث ثلاثة وما من إله إلا﴾ [المَائدة: 73]
| Abdel Haleem Those people who say that God is the third of three are defying [the truth]: there is only One God. If they persist in what they are saying, a painful punishment will afflict those of them who persist |
| Abdul Hye Surely, those who disbelieved said: “Indeed Allah is 3rd of 3 (in Trinity).” But there is no one worthy of worship except One (Allah). If they don’t cease from what they say, surely a painful punishment will befall those who disbelieve among them |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them |
