﴿وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عُزَيۡرٌ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَى ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِۖ ذَٰلِكَ قَوۡلُهُم بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡۖ يُضَٰهِـُٔونَ قَوۡلَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبۡلُۚ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ ﴾
[التوبَة: 30]
﴿وقالت اليهود عزير ابن الله وقالت النصارى المسيح ابن الله ذلك قولهم﴾ [التوبَة: 30]
| Abdel Haleem The Jews said, ‘Ezra is the son of God,’ and the Christians said, ‘The Messiah is the son of God’: they said this with their own mouths, repeating what earlier disbelievers had said. May God confound them! How far astray they have been led |
| Abdul Hye The Jews say: “Ezra is the son of Allah,” and the Christians say: “Christ is the son of Allah”. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieve from old. Allah’s curse is on them, how they are deluded away from the truth |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth |
