﴿وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلِكُ إِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰ سَبۡعَ بَقَرَٰتٖ سِمَانٖ يَأۡكُلُهُنَّ سَبۡعٌ عِجَافٞ وَسَبۡعَ سُنۢبُلَٰتٍ خُضۡرٖ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَٰتٖۖ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمَلَأُ أَفۡتُونِي فِي رُءۡيَٰيَ إِن كُنتُمۡ لِلرُّءۡيَا تَعۡبُرُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 43]
﴿وقال الملك إني أرى سبع بقرات سمان يأكلهن سبع عجاف وسبع سنبلات﴾ [يُوسُف: 43]
| Dr Kamal Omar till when Al-Malik [The head of state (of Egypt)] said: ''Verily, I see (in a dream) seven hefty cows whom the seven lean ones devour — and seven green ears (of corn), and (seven) others dry. O you (notables and) representatives! Give interpretation about my vision if you be that, that you interpret the dream.” |

| Maududi And once the king said: "I have dreamt that there are seven fat cows and seven lean cows are devouring them, and there are seven fresh green ears of corn and seven others dry and withered. My nobles! Tell me what is the interpretation of this dream, if you are well-versed in interpretation of dreams |
